LG 47LH55 HDTV Review
Today, I’m going to review an LG HDTV for you. I hope you enjoy it. Let’s get started!
First of all, if you’re going to be watching Blu-Ray, HDDVDs or anything else like that, you’re going to want to take in consideration turning off the TruMotion processing. I opened with this because it’s quite important. I didn’t want you to buy the TV without me telling you that you’re going to have to turn this off, then be mad. I’m a nice guy..I swear! If you leave the LG HDTV TruMotion procession on during any Film Based content, you’re going to get hit with a few unwanted added effects. Even though this feature is supposed to enhance the rendering on the TV, really what it does it speeds it up to a speed that you cannot follow what is happening in the background. Upon watching, we were left with a very blurred vision of the setting of the characters of The Great Outdoors.
Secondly, now that we’ve got the TruMotion processing out of the way, we can really step back and look at what the LG 47LH55 has to offer in terms of picture quality. Upon first glance, and even into the movie, this LG HTVD did wonderd in terms of rendering the picture, processing and color saturation. There was a plethora of detail, even on something as old as “The Great Outdoors” and it really brought the movie out and transformed it into a whole new viewing experience. I haven’t had much contact with LG HDTVs or products in the past, but I’m beginning to like them!
One of the most common problems while choosing an HDTV is that the dark colors and shadows aren’t always there. There seems to be an inherent problem with most nowadays in that they only display either “black or white”. What I mean by this is that when there is a shadow, it’s either washed out or ultra saturated with some HDTVs and this is definitely not the case with the LG 47LH55 HGTV. The shadows were deep, the dark colors were diverse and everything looked superb.
All in all, for the price tag this LG is one of the best HDTVs I’ve seen out there today. Like I said previously in the article, I don’t have much experience with LG HDTVs or with the LG Brand, but I’m beginning to love how efficient they are. This HDTV provides a serious bang for your buck.
